WelcomeWelcome to my world: A world in which I am still finding my way and my voice; where the language is laced with dry humor; where stilettos and football games go together like peas and carrots; where happy hour starts long before 5; where I make mistakes, get angry and laugh my ass off; where I will never love anything as much as I love my cat; where no one knows your name and you like it that way; where comments are welcome and where strong women who fight for what they believe in are always adored. Frankly, On My MindHave You Seen me Lately?

Scarlett
The most popular adjectives and descriptive nouns have been: Smart ass. Redhead. Sometime Princess. Ex-girlfriend. Sister. Best friend. Pain-in-the-ass. Dreamer. Girlfriend. Work-out Buddy. Dancing Queen. Roommate. Stress-goddess. Laid Back. Musician. Daughter. Writer. Shower Singer. Artist. Professional. And most importantly: SURVIVOR. I am a 20-something, single, girl who still sleeps with a stuffed animal, has a hot hot temper, who makes dry, inappropriate comments, loves red wine, cheesecake and martinis (the dirtier the better), a farm girl living in the nation’s capital. I’m feisty, energetic, moody (Gemini-Cancer Cusp), have a degree in music and international relations (neither of which have anything to do with my current job). I have an arsenal of sarcasm, comebacks and one-liners and I’m not afraid to use ‘em. I work hard and love my job though I avoid addressing the subject on this blog. I am a hybrid Midwestern/southern girl which translates into laid back and occasionally charming. I enjoy my independence and guard it like the gold in fort Knox. I am disorganized, forgiving to a fault and fiercely loyal. I have a symphonic range of interests including: politics (why the hell else would I live in DC?), music (performing, writing, singing and listening), history (ancient, religious and east asian being particular eras of interest), art, college football, theatre, fashion and literature. My apartment is in a consistent state of ‘organized chaos’. I’m forgetful and do not handle stress terribly well though it does force me to focus. I am perpetually 20 minutes late, I let my laundry pile up, and cry during Hugh Grant movies. I care about what other people think a bit too much (unless I don’t respect them, in which case I will go out of my way to piss them off), and am way too cynical for my own good. I'm cute, NOT a supermodel, bombshell or georgous and yes, I do have red hair. And there you have it, kids. Anything else you’d like to know, I cannot promise and interesting answer, but you’re certainly welcome to ask.
